Coming Out From the Shadows Ep 3: Triumph Daytona 600
There are many great bikes that didn’t get the credit they deserved when they were released. Born at the wrong time, they were overshadowed by the latest, greatest, shiny new things. Triumph’s Daytona 600 is a case in point. It’s a superb, real-world supersport bike, but it lived in the shadow of the more track-focussed race reps like the Ducati 749, Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki ZX-6R, Suzuki GSX-R600 and Yamaha R6. But now the Triumph... and the age of the average rider have matured, the Daytona 600 makes a lot of sense. It’s fast, fun and just the right side of shouty with a riding position that won’t contort you. In this video, I speak to Mark Burley - owner of this immaculate example - to find out what it’s like to live with and take a spin to see why it’s stood the test of time.
