For some, their opinions of a road-going superbike is inextricably linked to its racing cousin. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday... But it’s fair to say the BMW S1000RR has always lived in the shadows of most of its rivals in top-level superbike racing… unless there’s a Toprak aboard. But that doesn’t mean it’s had its day as a road or trackday bike… far from it. In this video I take the latest-generation S1000RR for a spin around the Vallelunga circuit in Rome, Italy and am quickly reminded why it’s such a phenomenal machine.
