What Makes This Bike Great? Ep 26: Suzuki GSX-R1000 K1

Suzuki’s first-generation GSX-R1000 rocked the superbike landscape when it arrived in 2001. It was significantly more powerful than its rivals and handled with the lightweight precision of a 750. It also heralded the start of the noughties superbike boom when 1000cc race reps mattered more than anything and manufacturers scrambled to produce the best with ever-more powerful machines like the Honda Fireblade, Kawasaki ZX-10R, Yamaha R1 and the introduction of the Aprilia RSV4, BMW S1000RR and Ducati Panigale. In this video, Dean Huggett shows me around his immaculate GSX-R1000 K1, talks about how he came to own it and his love of GSX-Rs. Enjoy.
