2026 Sports Tyre Shootout

Welcome to my 2026 Sports Tyre Shootout. In this video I pitch the latest sports tyres from the 'big six' tyre manufacturers head-to-head on a dry track and a wet-weather proving ground, to see which is the best. All the tyres tested here are available from Two Tyres (https://twotyres.co.uk):

Bridgestone Battlax S23 – Launched in 2024 with new compounds, tread pattern and construction. Dual compound front and rear.

Continental ContiSportAttack 5 – Launched this year (2026), its USP is that you don’t need to adjust pressures for the track. It features a Metzeler Interact-type multi-tension belt, new compounds, construction and tread pattern. Single compound front and rear.

Dunlop Sportsmart Mk 4 – Launched last year (2025) with a new construction, compounds and tread pattern. Single compound front, dual compound rear.

Metzeler Sportec 01 – Like the Conti, the Metzeler was also launched this year and features a new ‘Adaptive Tread Pattern’ (first seen on the Roadtec 02 sports touring tyre), which closes up under hard use to put more rubber down on the road. It also has a new construction and compounds. Dual compound front and rear. A more track-focussed RS version is also available.

Michelin Power 6 – Came out in 2024 featuring a dual compound on the front for the first time. It has a flexible sidewall design for extra bump absorption, a new tread pattern, construction and compounds. Dual compound front and rear.

Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV – It’s the oldest tyre here, launched in 2021. It has WSB-derived profiles, an updated tread pattern, construction and compounds. Dual compound front and rear. Each set of tyres sit at a very high level in terms of overall grip and confidence, but they all have their own unique character... and one stands out as raising the sports rubber bar. Enjoy
